Words of Appreciation and Determination
By Mr. Kwame Gazo Agbenyadzie Delivered at August 1999 Tozan (Taisekiji Japan)

It is an unimaginable good fortune for us all who have challenged ourselves to attend this
summer course at the Head Temple, the seat of the Great law. We have felt with our
lives the over 700 year history of Nichiren Shoshu in this sublime environment and we
are most grateful for the mercy and compassion of the True Buddha. We cherish every
minute of the opportunity we have to worship the Dai- Gohonzon and also receive
guidance from the High Priest. These events will remain in our hearts forever and we
shall remain indebted to the High Priest for his kind
consideration. As we receive the certificate of participation at the end of this most
significant course, we can only pledge in our hearts to further solidify our faith and
strengthen our resolve to do Shakubuku.

The profound Teachings that we have revived during this period would motivate us as we
prepare ourselves towards the celebration of the 750th anniversary of the establishment
of True Buddhism and beyond. We could not have had a better opportunity that this, as
we prepare ourselves for the next millennium. For those of us from Africa and
particularly Ghana, we have the greatest fortune of having been granted the first temple
on the African soil by the High Priest, we have started laying the foundation fro the
propagation of the True Law in Africa. In spit of the numerous challenges and obstacles
in our part of the world, we are confident that we shall succeed. Our conviction has been
deepened by the experience we have shared our fellow participants and our Priests.

With strong practice and correct faith, we look forward to the great fortune or receiving
the High Priest in our Temple in Ghana soonest. We thank the Priesthood for their
steadfastness in protecting the True Law and their vigorous efforts in propagation
activities all over the world. Finally, we wish to assure the Priesthood of our total
commitment to the accomplishment of the will of the True Buddha in our respective .

Thank you all most Sincerely,

Kwame Gazo Agbenyadzie
